I've always liked Sunfly, but opinion seems to be split.

There are some great deals around on whole collections if you have a Google for them.

Thats not even funny.

Sadly i don't have £1674.00 to hand:eek:

I was thinking £100-£200 just to start of my collection. It's abit above my price range:o

Thanks anyway

Well, you didn't say you had a budget and to be honest £1674. divided by 260 discs is less than £7 a disc which is a bargain if you do have the budget!

Sorry to ask again but is there any chance you can provide a link to the 6 CD EZ Karaoke pack you mentioned my search came back with nothing useful:o .

Well i'll admit this time that i didn't mention any budget. point taken.

and £7 isn't bad for a karaoke CD+G but i've found somewhere that is selling them for £5.99each with no P&P which i believe is the best i'm going to get.

Or can anybody give me links to any other good karaoke starter packs.

Spud, when I started my collection I got these http://www.ukdj.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=1752
and have since added chart karaoke to it, got the broadway one aswell as there's stuff the "senior" element like on there.

That's a good price at the moment, give them a ring they can usually do a bit of a deal.

Thanks for the link Spirits High :approve:

I like your thinking thats a very good idea. It seems as all the main karaoke tracks are included in these disc sets. so your saying with these 3 packs all i will have to do is buy some new upto date karaoke tracks and that will be my collection sorted?

Are they good quality with out the backing tracks sounding to corney?

I have never heard of this karaoke supplier before so am woundering how good they are.

For up to date tracks check out the Mastermix Chart Karaoke disks, at the moment they are on offer for a £5 each, there are only 10 of them and they start in 2004 to date. Very good versions too.

Songs wise they give you all the main tracks you'll get asked for and the quality is good.

As for the chart stuff "Vibrant" is spot on they're the ones I get to keep up to date.

I now have probably 1000ish tracks which seems to be ok. You will find some Kj's on here with literally thousands (Jay in leeds) but I seem to have managed on what i've got.

I added the Broadway pack as there is alot of Joeseph, Phantom type stuff on there. Had a kid doing "Tomorrow" from Annie the other day the grown ups loved it!

I've been looking at the Mastermix Chart Hits but in my opinion they seem a little pants:o

But i do like the idea of these

They are like the best hits of each year which seems a great idea but what happened to 2004,2005,2006,2007?

Well last night i spent £207 on the Xtreme Karaoke Party Packs 1,2 and 3.

So thanks Spirits High these collections seems perfect to get my collection of to a good start. There perfect to what i need. I'll let you know what there like when they get deliverd.

Still don't know what CD+G's im going to get to add new tracks to my collection to get them upto date.

Also i was just wondering i would like to back them up and run them from laptop can somebody please give me some ideas of how i would do this and what format they should be ripped to? AVI, mp3+g, BIN, ZIP?
I am currently using MobileDJ to play Music from laptop i would like to continue using this program but am unsure how to add karaoke tracks.

One last question when i try to rip tracks from CD+G is there anyway that it can file the file names, track names, artist e.c.t automaticaly or do i have to manualy enter all 36disks by hand:bang:

Please help.

To convert your CD+G disks to MP3+G You can try CDGRip (http://www.kjtools.com/cdgripdl.html) (free) doesn't work with all CD/DVD players though (even when it says it does) a much better (and quicker) option is Power CD+G Burner (http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_powercdgburner.php) costs about £20.

I use Compuhost for playing out my Karaoke files and this cost about £130 when I bought it, if I was starting again now I would use the Siglos Karaoke Player/Recorder (http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_siglos-karaoke-player-recorder.php) which costs about £25 or if you buy it together with the powerburner it costs about £40 for the pair of them. Both very good programs with good technical support, and at £20 odd each to my mind a bargain.

Power CDG Burner should find and itemise the tracks for you, to do this with CDGRip you need to buy a copy of Fastracks which costs £35 for the cutdown version and £50 for the full version. No brainer really.

Ok But what happend to only one a year! I could manage that:)

Good news i already own Power CD+G Burner:banana:
I bought it last year but then didn't find any use for it and totaly forgotten i had it. I didn't know it automaticaly finds CD information such as artist and song name in the same way as Itunes finds CD information. I just hope thier database contains details on the Xtreme karaoke party packs as i really don't feel like typing out 720 tracks.
So when they arrive should i rip them to BIN or mp3+g?

I think the KK Chart hits were done after the event, so it was easier for them to choose a good selection of tracks from each year. The Mastermix Chart collection started in 2004 so from then on they have produced 2 or 3 a year depending on the tracks. Most people want the chart stuff now, and a track that was at number 1 in Feb will not really be wanted the following year when the annual disk is released. And £20 or £30 a year isn't that hard to find to keep reasonably up to date surely?

Up to you I suppose, but most Karaoke programs want CDG or MP3+G so I would probably go with MP3+G @ 320kbs, Oh, that's what I did do:)

To be honest i dont like the sound of saving a single karaoke track as 2 seperate files as i have found when mixing 2 karaoke tracks tougether the audio becomes out of synx with the graphics therefor is useless. this could be due to the software i am using.

i will test this with my new karaoke CD+G's.

Anyone know where i can download a .pdf file of all the tracks included in the Xtreme karaoke Party Parks that i can copy and paste them into my karaoke book?

HI just before i do go ahead and buy from cookies the starter pack is this ok
for sound and quality lot a money to be spending, how do it live upto sunfly and all the other good names?

UltraBeat Entertainment

Personally i would say it's about the same as sunfly and other major CD+G brands. CD+G format is never gona be perfect visualy but these are as close as you'll get and to be honest most singers don't care bout the quality as long as they can sing over it and see the lyrics unless you get these semi pro singers.
