Correct,
Basically come out of your headphone socket on your laptop and connect it to the Line in on your mixer.
Nice and easy :D

no there both headphone ports

Are you sure it is not a Line In?
Most laptops i have used have a Headphones output and a Line In Input.

I think he is running some Dj software on the laptop so he wants to connect it to his mixer so he can use his laptop for dj'in.

As advised in one of my other posts just use one of the headphone sockets to connect the laptop to the mixer, Easy as that, all i can say is make sure you have a cable to do this too :P

And hope that the soundcard driving the headphone jack doesn't suck. USB soundcard?

I doubt you will have 2 headphone sockets?
you will have an headphone and mic socket, with both being double function as i.e. line in and line out.

PCs can have more than one headphone socket... My main desktop does .. no idea why though but pretty useful :)

As everyone has said... Just take something like a phono lead (well it is what i use anyway) from one of the headphone ports.. and put it over to the mixer.
No need to use both headphone sockets UNLESS you need both for the sound to work... (like an airline socket)... but never heard of that on a pc.

Hya Sam a pc is different to a laptop mate as there is a chance you would have multiple earphone and mic inputs especially if your pc has a separate sound card and also onboard sound on the actual motherboard plus they are usually on 56k voice/fax modems.

Laptops are more basic than a pc and would only provide ear and mic inputs usually for an headset that is earphones and mic so the only real way of having 2 ear or mic inputs would be if you plugged an external soundcard etc.
