I've been speaking to a few dealers/retailers this week and they all seem very surprised that DJ Show North is still happening this year, it seems someones put the word out that its not going ahead this year.

So straight from the horse mouth :

DJ SHOW NORTH WILL BE TAKING PLACE THIS YEAR ON THE 27TH OF JULY AT SAVILES HALL AT THE ROYAL ARMOURIES LEEDS.

All the planning is going well and we should be announcing the bulk of the exhibitors over the next couple of weeks.

So rumour mongers be told!!

Think its just a few :Censored: stirrers trying to do us down

Funny How "North" Seems to stop at Leeds, or in most cases, Manchester.

Does newcastle even exist? Ah well, its "only" a two hour drive @ £1.10 per litre of unleaded. Cheap as chips?.... :bang: :zip:

A lot of us actually attend from the South with a sight more than a 2 hour drive.

People would still moan if it was half an hour from their house and there was a free taxi to get you there.

Mobile discos my eye.

There's a Free taxi? I'll quit my "moan" then. HA-HA

I appreciate people do travel a lot longer than 2 hours to attend these things, my point was more along the lines of the perception of "north" in some people's eyes. Major events in this industry have always been very "south-centric".

I suppose its just a gripe us "way-up-north" Northerners have in general.

Enjoy the event Guys. I'll get back down the coal mine...

There has never been a DJ Show South, you can't really count PLASA as it becomes less DJ-centric with every year & even the NADJ agm Show (ironically as the NADJ sprung from the ashes of the Thames Valley DJ Association) is in the Midlands (200 mile round trip from here). BPM is also in the Midlands

Not exactly South-centric

Clive's show is in the South :sj:

Not bad for some. Went to Leeds last month and it took 6 hours to get there but only 4 hours getting home???

I would call my sat nav my map. :D

Traffic was busy on the way up but then again there was no traffic on the way home at all.

Next year I think I'll hire a massive tour bus, cram it full of manufacturers and then visit each dj's house one by one.

mind you I can imagine the calls.....

I knew a lot of them were happy with their religion, but having a disco to celebrate it is going a bit far!
