Afternoon all,
Having finally sorted myself out with a new 4 ft deckstand (ultimax!) I now need help as to which LED starcloth to go for. I have trawled the net and looked at quite a few. Just wondered which brand you guys use as i'm not sure what to go for. Cheers :beer1:

Hi Andy,

I bought the LEDJ starcloth for my Giraffe stand. It does the job great, comes in a small bag and you can change from sound to light to always on or off completely. It fits the stand really well, although unlike some starcloths does not have a rigid bar in it.
The thing that swayed me after looking at a few different makes was that the LED's flashed in a random pattern over the entire starcloth. Quite a few went across in lines or blocks of LED's which I didn't like, hoever thats just a personal preference.

Good luck in your search.

Paul

I have an NJD. (NJ 270A)

Under 100 quid from most places, it's serge wool not nylon, comes with NJD controller to make it do all sorts of classy things.

Hi Pagan flame, please can you tell me if the njd one has a bar in it to keep the cloth straight?.

Hi Andy

Go for the S&H Starcloth booth if you can afford it.

The NJD was reviewed in Pro Mobile, and favourably. If I get one, it's deffo top of the list to look at.

I have a prolight....I sometimes leave the lights off as it's just a cover.....:o

Personally i've gone right off them.....all the customer's come up and ask for requests grab the cloth and pull it down, which i'm never impressed with.....:bang:
I'm in the process of having just a plain black cloth with a very small web address at the bottom of the cloth.

Forgive me if this sounds daft, but is it possible to stick a starcloth to something like a thin bit of ply or something else that is both light weight but strong enough to stand up to people who are a bit unsteady on thier feet, and attach that to a deck stand?.

No it doesn't! :D

It does have tie cords by the cartload, all the way around all of the edges, to tie on to the deckstand, plus a weighted bottom edge to make it hang straight. As it's wool, you don't get the creases that you get with the nylon ones.

On my rig, I have a plain black cloth which is clamped on to the deck stand and decks / mixer flight case - any punters coming up do then have something solid when they grab hold... and then I put the starcloth over the top of that and tie it off to the deckstand at the sides.
