Can anybody recommend a cable tester that will not only do various speaker cables but also IEC cables etc.
If there is such a thing out there:)

just get yourself a multimeter mate,

just make sure it has a continuity tester on it (having one that buzzes is also handy)

only only cable i can see you having issues with would be speakon connectors as they can be a bit fiddly to hold a probe and make the contacts at the same time (however you could open the plug that makes it a lot easier)

you could also use it for testing fuses... making sure you have mains voltage testing lamps ect.....

Yeh that sounds like the way to do it, I just wanted something that I could do a quick test of leads Ive made up to check for dry solders etc.

Thanks bud

Have a look at:
Link (http://www.socketandsee.co.uk/product28.html)

It says 110v but I think it will do 230V as it includes a IEC plug to 16A 230V Blue BS4343 industrial plug (2P+E)

IEC should be tested with a high current to ensure that the connection is solid and not just one small strand. PAT testers are the best way to test these, just use a IEC to 13A adaptor and test as an extention lead
