All I know about lights is what I've learned from reading you guy's posts (remember that). I've used the search facility to try and piece together the answer to no avail. Its probably painfully tedius for some of you and I apologise for that, but I really need an idiots guide to powering my lights, like from the wall mains up to the truss (tidiest way possible i've got OCD). My new lighting rig consists of 4 Martin SCX 500's - 1 ImpossibLED - 1 Visio Colour Fusion. So 6 lights. I'll prolly geta rollocking from The Mod Fathers (I'm off to see Weller at the SECC tomorrow night lol) for going over old ground, but, I NEED HELP ! please

You should have got this from Delboy as well as the scanners.
http://www.djsuperstore.co.uk/item/lighting-controllers/228513-prolight-transcension-show-director-%C2%A384.99

Other similar items are available. Since the scanners are DMX, you will manage with a simple item such as a couple of these
http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/level5/module.jsp?moduleId=en/219693.xml

And IEC plugs on each lighting unit.
So, Wall Socket-Schurter 5way hung on truss/Bar- Individual lights. You may need some of these or similar to extend from the 5way to your further lights.

All done without having to wire any plugs/sockets, if you wish. :D

Your a legend mate. The scanners arrived today from Delboy, I was well pleased, everything was in mint condition, not one scratch, even on the bespoke cases.

No probs. There have been other threads on this topic, and slightly better dearer switch packs available. A search might help.

I just use a 6 way 13 amp mains extension and tie it to the tripod.

I just make sure i plug in any lights live quickly so it doesnt crash the cd player.
Not ideal but a cheap fix.

Otehr than that a switch box would be a better but mroe expensive option.

I'd have though you'd have made up some ingenious contraption of your own to solve the problem, what with your 300 years experience in electronic engineering :sj:
