hi there guys! im doing a disco! part karaoke! for a kids party in a few weeks. Now problem is i have good cordless mics and i have a good karaoke kam kdc system.I can play karaoke tracks as well as normal cds. Im using a lead that plugs into the scart socket on my portable tv. Now i was thinkin of using a flat screen monitor to save on space in the car only a 15in dell flat screen as i only use the karaoke for a add on to my kids discos. Is there a way i can wire this up as on the dell monitor i do not have a scart lead fitting like i have on my tv.I just wondered if anyone does a lead from the kam system to the dell monitor or can't i use the dell monitor any ideas.

thank's

There are plenty of vga to scart but I couldnt find a scart to vga converter.

I suspect its not simply a cable but a box of electronics as the timings are different for a TV and a monitor.

I believe that we had this discussion a while ago and I still haven't found a reliable way to connect a CD+G machine up to a PC monitor (I think this is what you're on about).

I'm still on the lookout for such a solution myself.

We do this using a TVBox 1440...

or

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=217676&C=Froogle&U=217676&T=Module

It works really well. Shop around for a decent price though!

Here is a copy of the manual...

http://www.kworldcomputer.com/download/US/Analog/1440tvbox/TVBOX_1440_manual_ENG.pdf

The signal from the Karaoke Player goes in the AV input (Yellow Phono) and the signal out VGA goes to the Monitor...

Sorry I'm not technically minded, but it does work, as I use this every time I do Karaoke using a RSQ SV222 karaoke player!

Cheers

mind this connector is only for RGB to VGA conversion and not regular composite video or Y/C video to VGA:(:(
