Hi.

Dependig on what sort of disco you are doing it might not be the ideal set up no.

however for kids partys or house partys it will be fine.

if you are looking into profeessional DJing i would reccomend selling up and buying just a couple dmx lights to start with and building up. if you can afford it get some led lighting aswell... anyway im rambling now so to sum up for professianl discos that would be a little overkill yes :)

I'm assuming your 4 and 8 way lights are what we call spot boxes. If that is the case, though dated in some people's opiniom, no not overkill. It's a reasonable basis for gradual improvement.

3 lots of light sequencers. (2xjoint 1xligt sequencer) in my opinion will be just a big wash of flashing light all too much, "less is more" haveing 16 spotlights flashing all night would look a bit much IMO

for me thats too many and look far too cheap for me to use at my discos, however it all depends what market your aiming for. I think you cant go wrong with the impossiled and a few par cans 64's. You get better quality lighting thats easier to manage and gives far better effects.

i like what youve got there, theres no way you have too much equipment

your dad probably says you have too much, because youve asked for more? Or hes sick of carrying it all in his car!

One Tip though, youve got the basics covered there. Now work on improving (not expanding). SO basically upgrade things, dont add to them! So resist the temptation to buy anymore lights below £80. Buy Quality not quantity, i think you get the idea

What do you feel needs improving? Admittedly its all quite basic stuff, youll probably have reliability issues with your CD Player, so that should be a good one to upgrade next (keep the homemix as a backup), youll also find your djing becomes alot better using equipment thats upto the job, cd players that start instantly and sliders that are smooth

Why don't you buy a 4ft dj stand to put all the equipment on? Would look mucg better and some tripod's for the speakers.

i would buy a a stand but their are wheels in the middle of the speakers on the bottom of the base
