Hi

I have been looking for a set of speaker cables to go from my mixer (RCA Phono) to XLR Male. Need to be about 5-6m in length.

Can someone please point me in the right direction where I can get some good quality ones?

The ones I use currently are very good, and have strain relief on the RCA phono end which offer some protection against movement if someone catches them with the hoofs, namely me! lol but I am looking for a pair as backup just in case.

I have looked on fleabay but they look a tad cheap and nasty.

Thanks in advance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I presume you mean signal cables, cos I'm guessing you've got active speakers. While that could be construed as making them speaker cables, that term is usually reserved for thecables carrying amp output to passive cabs. Sorry I have no suggestions to help you at the moment, other than suggesting you make/have made some short ones of the type you require, and then using 6m XLR-XLR cables from there.

I use the ebay ones and never had any problems.
If they are cheap and get ripped out then they dont cost much to replace.

Wrong way round, I'd suspect. Sorry I haven't checked my mixer yet. :(

Its ok now Excalibur, from what i can tell by the manual is the headphone channel selects the booth channel to play! How :Censored: stupid is that.

Gunna buy a behringer DX626 from thomann.de now.

They make decent cables with Klotz cable and Neutrik connectors. Decent service, good cables and reasonable price.

Im in new process of changing my playout system to

2 cdj400 and djm400 to where its not xlr to xlr.

using phono to xlr does it make much difference to the sound quality?

I know using phono to phono you can get noise but using phono to xlr does it make a difference.

If it's got a phono at the end, it's not balanced. Therefore, short runs preferred. I'd only expect to hear any problems if they were really long runs.

In two words, probably not, although the XLRs can be wired as balanced, I don't think RCA (phono) can be as they only have tip & ground.
Might be wrong though ;)

I'm looking at 6m run of phono to xlr so this should be ok then.
