Had 2 of these delivered today. Smaller than I expected, which is good :) They seem quite bright, I haven't had chance to compare them with the iMoves yet as I'm waiting for some lamps to arrive.

The rotating gobo's are quite good. I shall post a video soon.

Here's some pics next to an iMove...

The rotating gobos look good if used with a DMX controller, but they hardly rotate at all if you run them master and slave.

They are no where near as bright as the Isolution mover if you are projecting more than a few feet. I did a side by side comparison in a shop. The gobos weren't as sharp either.

Much nicer looking than the Imoves and I like the fact that the display is not on the front! :approve:

Depends which way you hang them though. ;)

Still prefer the Imove 5S after seeing these in my local dealer.

I prefer the x-moves over the genesis. :approve: .

Would be interesting to read a full review of these lights though. :)

Expert on knowing what people are doing in their own homes and what they are using without being told?

There's a difference between an expert and someone looking into a crystal ball.

Yeah, I don't see the point of spending a lot of money on lights like that if you don't dmx them.

The motors are a lot quieter than the imoves.

Totally agree.

The on board programs are "ok" so to speak but DMX does really work wonders with any like really.

I also agree on the quiet motors. But then again as they are small units, they don't need a lot of power to make them move about.

I disagree. Most fixtures have fantastic programmes in these days. It's only when you need to do something specific for a certain style, genre or piece of music that DMX comes into it's own. Unless you have a reasonable size show I can't see the point. It's good for rotating gobos though.

I think it depends on what light it is.

The x-moves built shows are not all that to be honest. They are ok if you are new to lighting and just want something that is sound to light but I like to keep control of my lights instead of them flying about.

And why do they sit right at the front?

why do they sit right next to your speakers and tell you to turn the volume down, why do they dance just afew inchs away from your setup, all crazy things.

Why dont you try find a hire company that hires out these lights and test them out on 1 of your gigs ;)
