Is any of the scottish members of the forum going along to this event at the secc? good few manufacturers there that supply to discos etc so should be a good day out to play with new kit.

I did price this up and including flights, parking and Hotel, it came to less than £100. Unfortunately, I am working the Wednesday and Friday and it might be a bit tight time wise.

Dont know what day i am going now....I dnt fnsh uni till 3.50 on wed so by time i get up there will probably be bout 430 but saying that its on till 630 on the wed. I have been getting away at 2ish on a wed though so maybe wed better for me now as i will get longer up there. On thurs i am in uni till 1.50 so be about 2.30 by time i get there n it closes at 5 so will only have a couple of hours either day.

Still looking like Thurs for me although it wont be till late afternoon when i have probably missed everything and everyone....Rubbish.

There is a meeting place in the exhibition..on entering the Hall 2 you will find it located at the back of the room on the left...There is a video dance floor in the area..

All really depend what you are going for..

I had a few friends working one of the stands so it was nice too have a bit of banter with them...

IMO way too many speaker companys there..

S+H where there with there start cloths...Massive display and there is really only one supplier of dj lighting there but the prices he was quoting where super low...£65 for a light thats £120 online..

Those tumble dryer lights are there along with a fibre optic red carpet £300 per M2..

Disapponited Rosco where not there this year..

Video floor on display but not as big as last years....Full size of the foyer last year...

Shure is there nice looking Stand....

A few av companys there Hi end..

I think it all depends in what you expect from the show would like to have seen more stalls for djs with regards to lighting..But all in all nice to get to walk about and see some hight end user stuff...

Spent just less than 2 hrs there collected the stuff i needed too and will nip in
again later to see if i bump into anyone...

We didnt get up there till about 3ish by time i had finished uni then travelled up. So i think everyone who went had been and gone by then..

Show was ok but i didnt think it was anything compared to last year....Like Dmc said there wasnt enough light shows. There was a camera with a massive flat screen tv that was pretty cool. I didnt take any pics unfortunately.....I seen a few people staring at me and thought maybe they were from on here as i had posted my princess leia pic a while back :Laugh: :Laugh: :Laugh:

Went to the show on thursday... A bit out of my league I'm afraid. Picked up some brochures and chatted to a few exhibitors. Found most stands were high end club and concert PA systems. The starcloth wall was worth seeing though! at sixteen grand a section (without control) I may give that a miss also, some cracking gear but managed to escape without spending any money .... just waiting on the phone calls now offering me demo's! Cant afford new stuff, saturday night AND NOT WORKING!

Was just looking up eventech scotland for this year and it appears the show has been postponed at present and will be rescheduled. It was supposed to be held on 10-11 Feb at the Thistle hotel in Glasgow but "Following a detailed review of the marketplace and taking into consideration the current economic climate and the strain this is having on many companies' budgets at present, the decision has been taken to postpone the upcoming edition of evenTech Scotland". http://www.eventech-scotland.com/

Yeah, I read about this back in December on MI Pro (http://www.mi-pro.co.uk/news/30761/EvenTech-Scotland-postponed) when me & James H were thinking about it & arranging a forum trip up there.
