can anyone tell me if 15" tops can be turned into bass bins with a system controller,so basicly my system controller has a sub output on it so that it just runs the bass can this work instead of buying bass bins?

When you say 15" tops, I assume you mean 15" full range cabs.

If this is the case, you certainly could use them to reproduce the LF only, however bear in mind they may not be ported in the same way a dedicated sub would be, hence may not be as efficient or sound as musical as a "proper" sub would.

As Tony has said, you should be ok. I would be tempted to disconnect and isolate the hf/tweeter unit just to be on the safe side.
