I agree, I done a disco a few weeks ago in a venue that had a stage built in the corner and the 4ft poles didnt fit. Luckily i was quite colse to home so had the smaller ones ferried over.

Get both. Quite cheap, they are anyway.

It depends on what the ceiling height will allow, if you're in a large hall, you'd use a 4ft, but if the room height is fairly tight, then obviously a 3ft.
