Not bad cabs from what I have read from other forum members on here.

I would go for it. They cost about £250 each anyway. If you can get the pair plus cables and bags, then you are well away. :)

What I can tell you is ... Warrior bass isn't that Brill, sound quality overall.

Use them with the subs, no problem. Plenty of power, that's 1200 watts Just of Bass.

The way you have photographed it, the speaker is bigger than the entire Garden!

Perhaps a quote from DFB? ( With whom I have no axe to grind, they're fine chaps. I have had many happy dealings with them)

So how many decibels is that 1200 watts of bass then???

Interested to know.

Last July, I bought a £265.00 PA Package, a mistake it was!

2 X Skytec 300 watt 15" Wooden Cabinets - 300 watts each
1 X Warrior DA 800 Amplifier - 250 watts per channel

There is No bass hardly whatsoever, I shall never be conned into that again.

It's a lot of wattage!

I thought i was conned! I got two metal speaker stands (which i wished I had kept now) and two skytec speakers of 200watts rms each for £60. Sound was awful! Im shuddering just thinking about it

how loud are they though, Max?
plenty of power consumption doesn't mean plenty of volume.

Wattage? lol.

Watts mean nothing. lol. I am more interested in SPL. Take a look at D&B Audio (Tony's favourite example I think, lol) and then take a look at other speakers. You will soon see that watts mean nothing at all. :)

Ahh, I remember that thread. lol.

A lot of watts for not a lot of output. ;) :sofa:

Having said that, I got an email from Class-d yesterday. lol.

Nitpicker. :p :D

Actually, Tony is absolutely correct.;) :D No big surprise there. It's just that it's easier to quantify a PA size in watts. It's difficult for mere mortals to relate to dB ratings. :( :(

The problem is Peter, band members come out with statements like; "we've got a 2k rig but could do with another k", believing this will give them a 50% increase in volume, whereas all things even, that would give a negligable 1½db increase, not the 5db they are imagining.

Ah, the perils of a logarithmic scale. ;)

The one I remember is that to sound twice as loud as a 100w rig, with all things taken as equal, you need not 200w, but 1000w!!!!! :D :D

the problem there is the skytec speakers.

Maybe.
One DJ powers his Rhino cabs with the same amp, no problems. But Tom described Warrior Bass as 'Thud thud' instead of a booming sound.

Nitpicker. :p :D

Max says :They are quite loud in a small room, but it's all tweet.
I have put them outside, and the sound distance is probably about 10 metres.

the waudio active psr15as have a very good sound and great bass for a full range cab - you cant blame a waudio amp for skytec speaker quality.

I run those speakers and I love 'em

The SPL is 128db if you're interested.

Only add a Mackie Active sub when I do large marquees or places like the Dome at Kelham hall

for £250 I hope you bit his hand off.

And guess what? You can use them in their covers if you want to :p :p :D

How do you know?

I thought Warrior was a reasonable make and Skytec are obviously at the cheaper end of the market but for small to medium power range should produce something acceptable and in proportion for the price paid:D

If you want to blow away 300 people in a Marquee forget it--

For smaller events up to about 70 people you should be ok allowing for the fact they wont sound like Mackie or RCF etc.

I wonder if its a front end problem--?

I sometimes use an old Skytec PA with modified horn units and its acceptable at lower power levels.

If you wanted a louder system to blow away 300 in a Marquee you clearly werent properly advised or you have not done your research by asking on here---thats partly what the forum is for;)
