Hi people,
I've been offered a Behringer Pro Mixer DX1000 (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/DX1000.aspx) for £100 delivered.

Will this be suibible for me to use for karaoke?

There's no FX on it, is there?

Its says in the instructions that it has Effects

You can patch a mono or stereo outboard effects processor into your DX1000 via the effect send [35] and return [54]
jacks on the back panel. Now you can effect your voice instantly simply by punching the illuminated
EFFECT button [9]. The effect send level is dependent on the fader setting. Adjust the desired amount of
effect (from -oo to +30 dB) by the EFFECT RETURN knob [42] to the right of the bargraph meters.

No, that's an external effects processor that you can plug in and use the send and return on the mixer.

make sure its the 1002 FX if it doesn't have FX at the end then there is no effects processor built in.

I bought a Behringer Xenyx 1622fx for Karaoke about 6 months ago and can't fault it, a very good buy.

Partly cos I like to have options, I'd see if you could stretch the budget this far.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Behringer-Xenyx-1202FX-Mixer-4-DJs-Bands-Clubs-Karaoke_W0QQitemZ270355976915QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK _Mixers?hash=item3ef278d2d3&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A2%7C294%3A30

And while I accept it blows your budget out of the water, as Gazzak says, I'd prefer this. ( cos I prefer sliders to rotaries. )

A year or so ago I bought a cheap mixer to hire out with Radio Mic's and PA which would probably do what you want (onboard Digital Fx, 4 microphone channels, 2 x stereo line in and all the inputs and outputs you could ever want - including USB in/out for direct connecting a laptop).

However, I paid £95 for it new at Maplin's and I have NO idea how they've managed to price this at £179.99 now!

Crackers.

Depends on how many Mics you want.

This is what I was thinking. 2 balanced mic inputs (XLR) seem a bit tight for karaoke. I always have four set up on my mixer.

From the sales waffle:

The XENYX 1002FX mixer produced and developed by Behringer, who are a world-leading designer, manufacturer and distributors of professional audio equipment, musical instruments and their related products

Hmm. :zip:
