hi
i have just baught the soundlab venus lighting effect and i have baught 2 of them but i tested them out and one of them was smoking so i took them back and they tested them in the shop and nothing happed and i have just got back plugged them in and its starting to smell of buring again can any one advise me or suggest what could be the problem .or dose soundlab have a website i could contact and ask them if they suggest anything thanks

Well sometimes brand new equipment that produces heat, I.E the bulb can produce somke when used for the first time, as this is the oils used on the motors or in the paint finish.
Sounds like it is this, but get it checked again before using it at a gig.

As above post, I noticed from a bunch of soundlab lights we ordered in for a job, They all produced smoke at first, What it turned out to be was the rubber silicon on the front of lens, Was applied very very poorly bad QC, Once it burnt off was fine though

and just looking there where similair lights ! but at 7 quid a pop, The qc aint gona be great, I expect they will be fine
