Another question from me... (it's all take take take, isn't it?! ;) )

I LOVE my Beta 58...probably the bestestest(sic) mic I've owned for vocal work. But frankly I'm petrified I'm gonna trip over the lead (my stage movement has been compared to a hippo!)

I've got a PG58 Radio mic, but after the Beta it's like hard work to use...but I don't have budget to justify a Beta58 wireless.

But I remember AGES ago seeing a "wireless mic adaptor" - literally a little transmitter which plugs into the end of any mic, with a traditional reciever with balanced XLR output to one's mixer. I'm sure the mic "end cap" was no bigger than - say - a DMX terminator, if that.

But can I find one again? Can I heck.

Any ideas or suggestions compadres??

Hi there.

This is perfect for any corded microphones (http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=sennheiser_skp-500-g2)

Its a nice Senny package perfect for any corded microphone. Just shy of £320. Might be able to get it down to £300 if you visit them in person and haggle with them ;) :D :)

Best wishes,
Neil.

£320 just for an adapter!

Might as well just go and buy a brand spanking new pair of PG58's for another £50

Bite the bullet---buy a proper radio mike---theres plenty of quality out there.

Any adapter unless its horribly expensive wont be worth buying.

Then it wont be worth buying cos you can buy the real thing for the same money.;)

I think you are talking about a AKG SO40...

There appears to be a price differential there, but bear in mind there's no receiver in the first, so unless you already have a receiver, I'd say you'd find no cost difference.

Indeed. But since the receiver is around £300, if you haven't already got one, a new Shure wireless kit is cheaper by far! :(
