So I was doing a wedding yesterday when I heard a "clunk" from one of the datamoons and noticed no light was coming from it afterwards. No-one noticed because I had plenty running at this time and it was late on into the wedding so everyone was inhebriated. Opened it up today and noticed the mirrored wheel (technical term) had fallen off, so I put it back on tightened it up with the allen key type thingy and tested it. It fell off again then again and once more, so rather than mess about sending it back I went to B&Q for metal glue just to aide the fastener somewhat. I bought Araldite Rapid - Tube Pack: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools as it says its heat resistant and works on metal, seems to have worked well......

But ! Now I realise its heat resistant up to 65 celsius, I ran the light for about 1 1/2 hours today and it seems fine. I know halogen lights get alot warmer than 65 celsius, but the part I've glued obviously isn't in direct contact with the bulb AND they're fan cooled. My question is, I have a wedding tomorrow for 5 hours, do you think the glue will melt and the wheel will "clunk" again? :D

eBay strikes again :o

Sorry to hear about your problem. I've had the exact same set of moons for about 3 years now without a single issue. Mine came from a "proper" store and weren't much more expensive.

I'd be making arrangements to return these post haste.

You think that would suffice? I'n not sure how hot it gets in there. Thanks though :D

I'll run it at tomorrows wedding see what happens anyway, bit late to sort it properly now, so fingers and everything else crossed that it holds up before melting and the wheel falling off again.

Thanks guys.
