View Full Version : Forum Holiday Anyone??? Mallorca 20th Sept - 24th Sept 2009

Well for those on multiple forums you may have seen this else where BUT i thought i'd bring it across here too....

So if any one fancies a DJ get away let me know...

Basically it's 4 days away to Mallorca to Cala bona (where myself and danno used to work) It's Sunday20th September to Thursday 24th September which avoids being away for weekend gigs and the last few years we've all done it - has been great....

Basically you looking around a max of £250 half board and as we know lots of the locals out there drinks will be cheap and plentyful!!!

Sadly it's only open to Over 18's though unless your with a parent as most of the time i struggle to look after me let alone anyone else.

So far we've got 2 booked in already and myself, Danno, Adam F and a couple of others booking within the next few weeks...

So here's some info as copied from Jeff's post on another forum.

found a good hotel bargain,

its the La Luna in Cala Bona,

which is part of the Levante group,,

so the good news is,, you eat at the Levante ( which is a Thomson Gold hotel , so exellent food )

and you can use all the facilities there inc swimming pool etc,

anyway, its cost £51 per night, per room, 2 people sharing, and thats HB, dinner and breakfast,,,

and ive just booked a flight, cost me £110 with ryanair from Liverpool

( barry's just paid £67 , and thats from Stansted.)

so, its not an expensive trip, for me its what £102 for the hotel, plus £110 flight = £212

and barry's even cheaper at £169 !

so if anyone else wants to come along, we're going sunday 20th september to thursday 24th september.

both of our flights arrive in majorca at around 9.30pm,, so you dont even have to get up early on the sunday biggrin.gif

link to the hotel, http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv206638...on-servera.aspx

SO ANYONE UP FOR THE ULTIMATE DJ NETWORKING????

it's all tax deductible :D

Now that sounds like a good way to have some RnR between gigs ;)

diary checked....clear :D

I'll pm you for the finer details will you be alright with me coming I mean I'll be 40 by then
:D :D :D

As an edit you can shuttle bus it direct to the hotel door from the airport for £14.50 each way

http://www.shuttledirect.com/en/php/airport_shuttle_direct.php

Used this company when I went Benidorm earlier this year and they were faultless ;)

jamesh
02-08-2009, 03:26 PM
Personally i've not had great experiences with the shuttle busses but if there are a few going they will prob just charter a bus anyway which could be perfect as will be direct from the airport to cala bona.

And yep it's perfect to unwind between gigs and cala bona is a great area - not to mention flat... so any oldies dont have to worry about hills :D :P

So far there's a good mix of ages going from 22 years old to 40+ so a wealth of knowledge between us all ;)

So any more for any more..

From what i gather though all the double rooms in the hotel are now booked!!!

But single rooms can be got down the road in a place almost next door (not as good quality but sure it will be fine for a break...called the MOREYO HOTEL. Rooms are just £69.33 Half Board but i'd suggest getting in quick,,,

Just out of interest for the guys that have been before isnt it a little "out of season"? Still gonna be warm and things going on?

For me I'd prefer East Midlands

from there you can Easy Jet, Fly Bmi or Ryan air it

If you want to do Leeds Bradford then Jet2 are the ones for you.

Prefer birmingham myself as I know i can get a train that takes me to the airport and thus saving me petrol and parking money.

Naturally if I can do the same with east midlands then no worries.

I'll fly from anywhere as long as there's a couple of people to share petrol/parking charges with. Birmingham, East Mids, Bristol, Coventry or Cardiff are the nearest though.

Just some advice for you adventurers:

I would personally avoid Ryanair as they operate like a flying cattle truck and because you choose where to sit once you are on the aircraft, you sometimes get fruit loops who leg it on, to get to the window, and push everyone out of the way!

If you are going from an Airport that has a choice between easyJet and BMI Baby, I would personally go for BMI Baby as their service is a little bit better, but easyJet are fine too.

That video was hilarious, although the aeroplane I fly doesn't have a beer pump :( :D

Sorry guys got some bad news :( Doesn't look like i can make those dates now due to a few reasons that i can't go into right now! But there's enough still going for a great time and lots of chat about DJing and the state of the mallorcan wiring and disco kit :D

Make sure you have a beer or 10 for me!

Am going EZ jet from East Mids so will be the first there chillng by the pool after my Saturday night gig :D

as an edit....how annoying I also looked at bmibaby and nearly booked them until they hit me with extra big charges for maestro and daring to want to take luggage with me  but as I was online booking EZ jet they were on the landline asking if I was going to book them.

Needless to say they were told to go away ;)

Thing to watch though is those flight prices are creeping up

I paid £118 in the end, would have been about £95 if I'd done it last week

Sadly Gents as much as i really am wanting to go (and believe me i do!!! the thought of you guys going to cala bona (my second home) and me no really upsets me) i just don't think i'm going to be able to with work and one thing and another.

For those that don't know i had a slight bump in my van a week or so ago and the insurance company have just informed me they want to write it off as it's done 135,000 miles and is a 54 plate - so it's not worth the body repairs... Downside is they are giving me less than £4000 for it :( so i'm going to have to add to it to get something decent for work.

Plus on the day we fly back i have gigs Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun at the moment and that may change to Tues - Sun im just waiting for the confirmations.

So unless i win the lottery over the weekend or something like that i really don't think i can justify the trip :( :( :(

IN total over the 2 forums theres

Jeff Wood, Jeff wall, Barry, Dan, Ben, Paul and neil... Possibly Adam as well

So you'll still have a fab time. Just sadly without me there :(

just stumbled across this thread...

have been thinking that we should organise another trip next year...

but we need to work out a good time that suits most people..

and also go to somewhere like Magaluf.

personally i cant wait till next sept,

i think we should think about April

May always seems to be too busy, seems a very popular month for weddings, and then after may of course June is also busy..

so April seems a good bet i think...

im glad that Neil and spirits high came, and i'm truly sorry we inflicted cala bona on you:) its a long story,,

but next time, defantly somewhere more lively..

as i say, magaluf or palma nova would be my choice

its not rowdy if you go slightly out of season,, and theres a good mix of age groups..

should suit us including the old gits like me:D

Jeff dont worry too much about the holiday after all looking back I have only fond memories so its not all bad, at least we laughed about it and still had a couple of good nights.

After BPM too Im so looking forward to the next holiday :D:D:D April sounds good to me as i'll be 27 then and starting to feel really old....:P
