Definitley 56s, most of the time they have exactly the same number of LEDs, so there is no difference in output. The 64s just take up more space and weigh more.

Unless you buy the Visio ones which are a nice shape and there is a difference as Clive showed me.

But surely they still have a bigger footprint than 56s?

It's often a nightmare to even squeeze the 56s in, amongst tables that have been setup tight against the wall!

How can the footprint be any bigger when they are on stands?

Ahh.. silly me, I hadn't realised that the same sized floor stands would be used :o

Even still, they just look too big and more of an eyesore, to me. Plus they need bigger cases for transport and are heavier!

ColourBursts - I did toy with the idea of the 56's as i have a couple anyway but the colourbursts were more compact and discreet IMO.

I hate to disagree again, but have you looked at the Visio cans Dan?

Par 64
Dimensions: 216 x 216 x 205mm
Weight: 3.0kgs

Par 56
Dimensions: 190 x 190 x 185mm
Weight: 2.5kgs

Not a great deal of difference and they are a nice shape.

Main reason I use the colourbursts ( apart from £29:00 price tag ).

Tesco do a sports holdall for around £10:00 , there are various designs and colours , however one of these can hold 12 colourbursts with wooden bases ,+ 12 x3m dmx,12 x3m IEC + 11 splitters.
very heavy but the holdall has wheels at one end.

Personally I prefer to use the 64's rather than the 56's as they have a wider disperse on them and they are slightly brighter than the 56's.

Par 56s for me.

i just got some Kam colorburst (36's) copies and gees theyre good little units for the size! - i thought people were exaggerating and they couldnt be like the 56's - but i'll tell you something its pretty close!
