There are a number of questions being asked about the new site so I will make this post and try and answer as many as possible.

Email addresses on site and what we do with them

We recently sent an email to everyone who had either registered on the forum or had submitted their business to the old directory. Our privacy policy has always said that we may email you to make you aware of important news or updates to the site. We haven't sent a mail shot like this for a couple of years and felt that the site being re-built and requiring users to re-submit was classed as important enough to send out a mailshot.

The old mailing list is now to be destroyed and in future any further mailings by ourselves will be sent to a more current mailing list.

This mailing list will be taken from forum registrations and the DJ listings. Again, we will only send a mail out to make you aware of important changes that may effect or benefit you.

Under no circumstances do we pass your details onto anybody else.

The new site does not display any email addresses on any of the pages anymore. All email addresses are connected to contact forms only and the address is pulled from the database in the backend so not to even appear within the source code of any pages.

We have took this issue seriously in tackling spam and have put measures in place to help you avoid getting it.

If any user does not want to be on our mailing list, then you must request to be removed from the forum if you are a member and have your listing removed from the directory. The reason for this, is that we must be able to contact all our customers and by us not being able to email you makes this task impossible.

How listings are displayed in the directory

All free listings are displayed in order of the town you have registered. This is to help users easily identify their home town and choose a disco near to them. PLI and PAT verifications on free listings will not alter your ranking in the free listings. This is to avoid confusion with prospective clients with multiple zones for areas. If you want to appear higher, then you need either a premium or enhanced listing. PLI / PAT / ProDub verification is just that and not a way to appear higher in results.

Enhanced listings appear above free listings in your county and all associated towns within your county. As these do not indicate your town, they do give priority to users that have also provided PLI etc. Users that have an enhanced listing still have an entry in the free listings. All enhanced listings are displayed in a random way to give all users the same exposure.

Premium listings are displayed in much the same way as enhanced but they appear at the top of your region and all associated countys and towns within that region.

If you provide a service that is UK wide then we suggest you get a banner ad that appears in rotation at the top of every listing page.

Submitting PLI PAT ProDub

You can do this via your DJ Control Panel. You must make payment and send your info by email with your company name so we can match your payment with your email.

NADJ and SEDA verification

The email address to send this is on the home page of your control panel. Please be aware that our admin email address no longer exists due to the amount of spam that gets sent to it.

Venue database

A more detailed submission policy for this will be released at a later date but the basic guideline is that we only want info that is important to DJs about to go there for a gig.

The comments area is not for commenting on staff or the state of the wallpaper. It is purely for saying how you found access and what the venue was like from the perspective of a mobile disco operating from.

No person is to be mentioned by name within the comments area.

Remember we are not rating the venue on cleanliness or the food but purely from an operating perspective.

If you have further questions, post away and one of the admins will assist :)
