Hey everybody,

A few weeks ago my old "portable" 14" TV broke down so i'm currently in the market for a nice new flat screen monitor/TV. I'm planning to mount my new monitor/TV on to my Vertical light stand poles.

Just wondering what size is your karaoke monitor/TV?

(P.s know of any good deals:D)

Have a look on Ebuyer -they do some decent deals on monitors.

22" for less than £110 here. (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/155601)

Sorry can't recommend any deals!

Thanks for raising this - I was just wondering what to buy. I've been looking at 15" and 17" panels on eBay as you can pick them up for stupid money if you can find a local one (the ones that people refuse to post seem to go for a lot less cash - as low as £8!!)

Where do you get the Mounting hardware from to put a TFT screen on a pole?

I have an ultimax stand so I got them to make me something.
Basically an 'open casting' which can grip the pole. You can get them in different sizes, then a VESA mounting is attached.
I don't do Karaoke, but I do use them to display photos etc and it works a treat.

I bought one of these....http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LCD-TV-WALL-MOUNT-BRACKET-SWING-TILT-17-19-20-22-101B2_W0QQitemZ230364834611QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_H ome_Garden_LivingRoom_TV_Furniture?hash=item35a2d0 6b33&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 and bolted it onto the uprights on my Giraffe deckstand, it swivels right around so your punters can decide where they would like to face when they sing.

I have some wingnuts so I can easily remove it and it actually holds my 19 inch monitor with nothing else on the stand.

I will try and post a pic soon.

That looks incredibly versatile :)

Do TV's come with VESA mounts, or is it just monitors? I've been weighing up the pro's and con's of buying a 19" monitor or a 19" TFT TV?

Sounds like your having the same thoughts as me but sadly its not that easy.

My karaoke machine only has a scart plug output which monitors don't take only TV's. I have found many Scart to VGA converters but there not cheap and not guaranteed to work so it looks like i can only use a TV:( (even though i wanted to get 2x Dell 17" Screens)

Most modern TV and Monitors now come with the VESA mounts.

I have two TFT stands that I purchased from CPC, tried to provide a link for you but looks like they have stopped selling them.
Let me know if you need one to use I have two stands with tft monitors on them.

I run Karaoke from my laptop so I have a 19" TFT Monitor connected through VGA and a small TV connected through the S-Video port.

Thanks for the offer but looking for the actual monitor. Planning to use existing stands. Thanks anyway.

Can't find a monitor without speakers, Freeview, DVD Player with a scart or RGB connectors anywhere for good money:bang:

What are you calling good money? I linked to a 22" one earlier for just over £100!

I have 2 of their monitors and am not sure about 'good brand', but they certainly are cheap!

A few years ago (might of been longer to be honest) Viewsonic had some of the fastest monitors as in response rate on the market that people could afford to buy.

Great for gamers really.

I'm looking for something a tad smaller. Around 17" i was thinking.

Does that screen have a scart connector?

Thanks guys. Haven't decided which one yet but will have time to look in detail later.

Question 2: I have 1 scart socket for Karaoke output is there any way i could split this so i could send the same signal to 2 TV's?

I know about the scart blocks and switches but they are only able to connect 2 devices (VHS and DVD for example) to 1 monitor.

.

My karaoke player has RCA output, so I just use a RCA splitter on the video output. So you could use a Scart to RCA and then the RCA spliter???

There may be a better option though!:o

Sarah:D

PS: I just found a scart to 2 scart lead on Amazon, so presumably this would do the trick!

We use 14-, 15-, 19- and 22in monitors/tv screens. We also plug in to large screen tvs/projectors at various venues. A couple of venues also have multi-screen systems that we can feed in to.

For sending signals to multiple screens, we use a scart for the singer's screen and an RCA lead going from the video out socket to the bigger screens. The advantage of this is that our longest RCA cable is 25m so will reach the big screen in other areas of the room (opposite wall, for example).

We also have a video distribution box that lets us send video to up to 4 screens (either separate video for each screen or the the same video for multiple screens). It has a built in video amplifier to boost the signal so it's ideal for sending video over longer distances (in bigger venues or to other rooms). I've tried to find a weblink for it but cant - it is about 6 years old, though.

I use an 8'' screen (the sort that has built in DVB etc).
It's mounted on a mike stand that has 3 mike holders on it.
Nice and simple , why do you need a 19'' screen ?
