Pub job turned pretty much into an indie/rock night :) with some disco, soul & old school hiphop thrown in. I love doing the pub in question you never know what you're gonna get 'til you start playing, the last time I was there (2 weeks ago) it was mainly reggae, ska :) & soul.

The "Wild West" entertainment consisted of a "Bucking Bronco", "Bucking sheep" - insert cheap Animal farm joke here, a 2x full pig hog roast, a quiz and a quick draw cowboy competition. I even managed to get Achy breaky heart going rather well!! My line dancing skills do, however, leave a lot to be desired.

It was fun and everyone had a good time - the pig was lovely mmmm crackling...

Re-- Wild West Night--- no Line Dancing, Square Dancing or Barn Dancing then?

CRAZY K

Alex - Cream Ents
26-05-2006, 03:32 PM
No - the organiser had asked me to play some "cheesy" music for the most part - which was a nice change from the norm. - as they were Hewlett Packard employees, a lot of them were not particuarly interested in dancing, I was fortunate enough to have plenty of women there to keep the dance floor busy.

Also there was quite a variation in peoples efforts at wild west dress - ranging from lots of effort to blokes who thought untucking their work shirt was satisfactory.

CRAZY K
26-05-2006, 04:05 PM
Thanks for that--not too Wild by the sounds of it!

Perhaps a Dance Floor of Line Dancing Ladies might have been wilder!

Last night's wedding turned into an 80s extravaganza, which wasn't too bad and the bride and groom were really chuffed - which is the most important thing! After a relatively long drive home I had to be up for 7 this morning and have set the rig for tonight, now about to set off for another wedding...no time for gardening unfortunately.

Corabar Steve
28-05-2006, 11:21 AM
The wedding I did turned out very indie orientated & I thoroughly enjoyed the night as did the extremely pleased Bride & Groom. However it was a marathon gig, I provided background music for the arrival & meal (Jazz  / Easy Listening :) ) & then the main reception in the evening (mainly Indie :) ). Including set up & take down I was on site for 12 hrs :omg: (got fed & watered well though :pizza:  :teeth: )

Not working.....building instead.....bass bins!!:D

Personally, I think the Warrior speakers are so good that you simply don't NEED bass bins to go with them!

So whats a pre christmas taster then ?????????

A Christmas party style event, where all the corporate clients get invited to basically come and see what we do in December in the Hotel.

Dinner/dance really, but it gives the Hotel a chance to show everyone what they can provide to potential customers.

Doing nothing this weekend but got a midweek 2 hour Rock n Roll session that pays good.

Just wondering how much the Wedding DJs in Gretna are on as we heard 2 on Saturday evening while camping nearby? :D
