I am looking to mount a Monitor for a karaoke session next friday.
What stand would be ideal , it would need a smallish footprint so that clients dont trip over the thing , but stable enough to prevent clients knocking the stand over.
overhead mounting is not possible
Cheers

Hi mate,
Give John a call at Total Sounds in Reading. He has some mounting brackets in store. I bought 2 of them for my 22" monitors for Karaoke and Photo Projection and they can sit on speaker stands. Well happy with them.

I've got stands that hook onto my Ultimax stand and swivel round. I got them on Ebay.
I'll try and find them for you.

Plonk it on top of any speaker tripod, or halfway up any 35mm upright - job done.

That's what I have!
They are spot on as you can turn and tilt them.

Funny you should mention these. Mine arrived yesterday as i hoped to mount them on my deck stand but found my up rights are 32mm and not 36mm:bang:

I wanted them originally to go on the sides of my Giraffe stand but the uprights were a lot thinner. The guy in the shop had some speaker stands that were the same as mine and we tried them on those and they were perfect.

Sarah, that's fine if you are using it for Karaoke. I wanted my monitors up a lot higher for projection and visuals etc...so that would'nt be that great for me. For Karaoke's I use the TV Monitor stand that looks like the one in your link but I use a laptop for the monitor instead of a TV.

Sarah, I wasn't having a dig or anything. Apologies if it came across like that.

Weight of monitor speaker?
Theres some good ideas here but that looks a crucial piece of info.
Are the stands used for TV monitors suitable for monitor Disco speakers as they have completely different characteristics---i.e. flat screen against a box shape---thinking of the toppling over over aspect here--- H and S etc.
Not my area of experience but im currently looking at similar issues with some tilting adapters for speaker stands.
