Wouldn't touch either with a bargepole - cheap & nasty, however, if you actually really need a five channel mixer go for the numark, if not obviously go for the American Audio

Excellent advice as usual Tony. Sadly, I feel you may have overestimated the available funds by £500 to £600 pounds. :( :(

I'm just in the process of buying a Numark C3FX. Will let you know what it's like when it arrives!

I have an ADJ Q-2422. Very versatile unit, easy to use, excellent sound and no problems of any kind - same as for my ADJ SDJ-2 card player - in 18 months of regular use.

Which, together, make up my main playout console. No plans to change. :D

Alternatives - in my current backup console (soon to be split and sold off!) I have a Gemini PS 727 mixer... very good and solid mixer which can be had for small £££'s, or get the newer version (PS828) instead... --> http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/Gemini-PS828X-Mixer-PS-828X.html

... or you could get yourself a mixer with the same layout as a Pioneer DJM unit with the Behringer DJX 700 or 750... DJX700 for a ton here --> http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/DJX-700-Behinger-DJX700-4-Channel-Mixer.html

Might I suggest that before any further money is spent in the pursuit of improving this ailing sound system, which has recently had three amps, and two mixers, that someone close to you has a look at it, and see what suggestions they have. ;)

Think you're right!

Mind you, I've been in the business for ten years and I'd be very reluctant to splash £800 on a mixer! Even some of my powered mixers have cost less than that!

Certainly do,, I've got a Formula Sound FSM400 ( 19" Versin ) and I love it.

Also.,you can get these mixers for a bargain price on ebay, and then you can get a brand new top plate from Formula Sound so its looks brand spanking new !

Thats what I did,,I paid £220 for my FSM400, paid £50 for a new top plate, knobs and screws from FS, et voila !!!!

Ive owned loads of mixers over the years, and I would say that the only ones that sound great are Formula Sound and Allen & Heath.
