Ive been using an unpowered Advent usb hub for a while and it worked ok. But ive just made a backup of my main hardisk onto a Western Digital Passport drive (powered off usb port) and i needed a powered hub.
Now i was in currys looking for something and i come across a Advent 7 Port USB hub which comes with an external power adapter.
the price..... ฃ4.97!!! and it works perfect on my hd2500 i can even power my passport on it now.
The next bargain. I thought id have a quick look at the external hardisks to see how much the one i bought was in currys.
On the shelf next to it.... A western digital My Book Essential 2TB in size.
ฃ99.99!!! If your looking for a big external hardisk that might be worth a look at. It made me get my card out and buy one :D

Why would you need 2tb (following on Peters point about WMA)
Is there an advantage?

.wav, actually, but hey ho. :D :D :D :D :D
The theoretical advantage is the .wav is uncompressed ( lossless) so should sound better. Should. There may be other advantages, but I'll let the technocrats vote on that one.

Think I would rather part with the extra ฃ1.47 and have a 'proper' plug

Depends which direction the lead exits the transformer.

In English, about an inch and a half. 4cm. Extension cable needed. ;) The cable out of the power supply/transformer is very robust.

CPC or Ebay. Take your pick. I got a load from CPC, they can be lifesavers on occasion.
