There is so much choice out there , I need to narrow this down.

Ok . this is a must , Micro ATX form factor , simple :D

CPU : not fussed , P4 on up , but nothing to powerful , I am only running the OS and one program :p

I am not having a CD/DVD drive , so must be able to boot from USB.
I think that on board LAN is standard on motherboards these days.

Memory: 2gig min , 4gig max , mainly because XP cant "see" more than 4 gig ( something to do with 32 bit systems )

HD: around 500gig SATA

If using 4gig of ram then no need for a graphics card , I can use the on board , if only 2gig , then a PCI express will be fine.
is there a bundle out there that will tick all the boxes ?

Cheers

xp can't see anything over 3gb with a 32bit operating system. Its a limitation of the core code used. For what you want something very basic would do the job try the barebone bundle at maplin included case and psu as well.

Remember the days when a certain Mr gates said " nothing will need more than 640k of memory"

I have a case and PSU , but thanks for the link

I recently bought one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MSI-7173-Motherboard-Bundle-Kit-Pentium-4-3-0-GHZ_W0QQitemZ260565691769QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mot herboards_CPUs?hash=item3caaeced79) for a new gig PC that I was building out of spares which I thought was great value.

Stuck the OS and OtsAV on the 80GB drive and then bought a 500GB drive for £34 from eBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158860) for storage.*

Jobs a goodun!

:approve:

*Price has creeped up to £41 now...
