So far it's only part finished an not yet live from the main url. I've got as far as the testimonials page but would appreciate feedback for the parts of the site that's up so far. A website is a new venture for me so your expertise is appreciated.

Yep, looks very good! Just a tip, whilst you don't have those pages working change the 404 error page on your hosting control panel so that it is in keeping with the main website, makes broken links look a little better and also helps when search engines have spidered pages on your site that no longer exist...

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions so far. Nice to know I'm on the right track.

Danno..I have no clue how to do that..lol. I'll have my web guy look into it. I did all the design myself but have no clue on the actual html and hosting side of things. I've left that to the professionals.

The site should be fully completed in a day or two. Keep the comments rolling.

Well.....My sites now live.

Still a few tweaks to do behind the scenes (client area etc...which is passworded anyway). Also some minor wording and terminology to be edited slightly. For the most part...it's now complete

Let me know what you think.

looks fab ... only thing i would say is not to slice up everything or reduce the number of slices and if you can use HTML background colours rather than sliced jpg (guessed you used fireworks to chop it all up) ... the only reason is people on a slow link cannot access the website until all the jpg's (the onload command) are loaded, this can take a while and people if on a slow link will not bother if it takes too long to see the first page.

as you are a graphic designer you will know that gif's can be better if more of the picture is one colour (if you reduce the pallette) and jpg better for complex pics.

so not fault of the desgn ... more of the customer experience when the first hit your site

Thanks for the input and suggestions :)

The actual site building work was done by a mate that owns a web design / hosting company as I've never built a site before. I personally think he's done an awesome job..I couldn't be happier.

I'll pass on your comments onto him. Cheers for the tips.

its only that you could have say 10 pictures totalling 60kb where as it could be resliced to just 4 picures totalling 25kb.

each little picture will still normally take up at least 1kb (or more) the less the amount of picture the better the saving, also to reduce the quality to maybe 75% most people will not notice and this will create another good saving

The design style was a consious decision. I wanted a compact look that didn't require any scrolling

Hmmm, well i guess i better learn some HTML, my site is done using flash, but after reading a lot of comments it seems this is not a great way to do a site :(

Oh well...check back in a year to check out my new HTML site lol

That's not too bad an idea, but...i still need to work out how to you tables/frames etc...

My current site is a moonfruits one and is so easy that site was built within a 45 minute dinner break lol, and i think it looks alright, however i may be wrong lol
