Any of you guys got one of these:

Or similar??

I'm thinking of getting one for my quizes because of the set up in the res I do. However, as a side thought, it looks to me like it could be used as a "wireless soundcard" ?? So could it be used with a disco? Would the quality of the sound be any good??

I think the quality of the sound would be terrible. It's made for home audio products rather than disco setups.

So is there a product that does a similar thing for the DJ market?

Yes, the LD Systems LD WATS (http://www.ld-systems.com/157-1-ld-wats.html).

I have used Darren's and it does the job very well, although at £329 the price will put many people off.

The thing is, I've tried other cheaper solutions and they just don't work properly or at a decent distance, this does.

If you want a solid reliable wireless audio sender then this is probably the only one available at the moment, although it isn't USB, it plugs into your mixer outputs (or booth).

I bought another one recently and for a lot less than the price quoted above.

Pm me for the supplier.

Completely agree with the above!

Bought the LD Wats for a one off gig (which Darren had off me), then used them again over the Xmas period with James H. There is nothing else as good out there yet.

I've had very good experienced with one of these:

There's a venue I play regularly which has a piped PA system in several rooms and I bounce the booth output signal from my mixer across one of these and into their PA - a distance of about 15m - and the signal is clean and distortion free.

The units have built in rechargeable batteries that go for at least 6-8 hours.

Well recommended, especially as I only paid about £25 delivered so shop around. Again not a USB soundcard - it takes a 3.5mm stereo jack feed, but is supplied with phono converter cables.

Oh, and they're TINY - each box is about the size of a book of stamps, and is about 8mm thick.
