this query has been bugging me now for sometime, yes i agree a laptop is a lot easier to transport and setup etc, but could be classed as unreliable just few to a few details, i.e power supply packing up, or ram giving up the ghost etc, would a desktop be more reliable if say was fitted into a 19" rack case.

what do you guys reckon??

cheers mark

Having used a laptop regularly week in week out for two years not once has it packed up or caused me any issues and has been one of the best moves Ive made because of the ease of access to songs etc.. compared to using cds.

I have to add though that my laptop contains my music, numark cue, itunes and msn messenger, nothing else.

I think the desktop wont be any less reliable so long as you look after it and not overload it with junk etc..

I have used a laptop for approx two years. Don't want to change because most of the time it works really well. The software I use is PCDJ Dex, which on my laptop, at times has problems when seaching. Apart from that, very happy with it.

Hope this is of use to you.
