What makes the service you offer stand out from the crowd, what do you do to "delight" your customer? What is your "wow" factor?

The hansome devils we employ as DJs & the fact that, despite the suggestion in another thread that all DJs are overweight, none of ours are.

Seriously though I think the fact that we train all our DJs before they are unleashed onto an ususpecting public, goes a long way to help our reputation. They only go out on their own when I think they are ready. By that time they will have experienced at least weddings, kids paties, & birthdays with either me or another "senior" DJ of ours.

We give them as much or as little training as they need, however if it becomes obvious that they are just not up to it on all fronts then we let them go. I am very critical of our DJs & if something's not right I let them know.

Another thing that helps us stand out is the standard of service the client gets from our office staff, many have indeed commented on this.

I honestly do not know, no 2 shows are ever the same. I just watch their feet and go with the flow.

Many times, at the end of the night, I have people saying how great it was, fantastic night etc. As we drive home I ask Carol "What did we do that was so great? Must do it again next time"

But next time I am still myself, not knowing what will happen tonight, just feeling my way again. There is no "magic formula" only that gut-feeling.

When I did a members show for a DJ association, the comment afterwards in the newsletter was " The members show for the evening came from Robbie Earl and Magic Moments from Leyton with a hard to describe show, with many years experience gone into the set-up. I think the word "entertaining" is best, as at the heart of everything is Robbie Earl with his great personality"

Oh, a nice ego-boosting thread.. ;)

Probably song selection is my main asset - creating good vibes that go through everyone, whether they're dancing or not

a giant banner, a giant mirror ball, a giant suitacase of hats, a dj that doesn't like the sound of his own voice more than the records, and a good selection of cheesy music.

Any particular reason for that? I went through a stage like that, got sick of the late nights, idiotic/dunken punters, loud music, headaches etc

After a small break, I decided to get right back into it, the smoking ban has helped a great deal too :thumbs_up

1 million dancing customers cant be wrongHow did you reach that figure Badger? Because by my reckoning, to get 1,000,000 dancing customers, you would have to have 6 gigs a week, every week for 20 years, and have 160 people dancing every night..... and you'd still be a couple of thousand short!!!! :omg:
