Does anyone know if you can get something like a standmate but with 3 core cable & a mains plug (as opposed to a bulgin plug)

Like this but with a 3 pin plug

Or a 4 way one of these?

I'd be interested to find some of those too.

there is a 3-way version of the lead Steve has pictured, or you can use the two way version with two of these

http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/searchBrowseAction.do?D=iec%20adapter&Ntt=iec%20adapter&Nr=avl%3auk&Ntk=I18NAll&N=0&Nty=1&name=SiteStandard&forwardingPage=line&R=2110682&callingPage=/jsp/search/search.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0009395984.1154378921@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccjaddihefhedgcefeceefdffhdfgj.0&cacheID=ukie

the three way version isn't great IMHO, as the third extension is a different length to the other (shorter two) as it's another Y join off one of the first pair of Y joins

There most certainly is - in fact there are two option, I own both. The "lead" version has four IEC sockets and a three core lead with 13 amp plug - but picked it up at a car boot!

I also have a square plastic box, with 8 or 6 (can't quite remember) IEC sockets and one plug. You run a kettle lead to it and bingo! I think they are available from RS - if that helps but you need more info, let me kknow and I'll have a look tomorrow!

Yeah, I've got a couple with separate mains plugs and I got them from CPC (http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/home/homepage.jsp;jsessionid=PGPHQQYILZ3SFQFIAFACFE4AVA AUAIV3), and I've just spent the last 20 minutes looking for you, but can't find the **** things

sorry to sound possibly stupid here - but could you not just cut the bulgin off at the end and puta 3 pin plug on it? I may be wrong but

This is what I have (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4W-IEC-Power-Block-Extension-Strip_W0QQitemZ270012190966QQihZ017QQcategoryZ4534 2QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) but can't find on CPC where I bought it from.

I'm pretty sure I only paid £7.99 and that was with the plug too.

I think this is what you want - and is certainly one of the things I have -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-way-IEC-mains-socket_W0QQitemZ330012241732QQihZ014QQcategoryZ453 42QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Or you could do it like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4W-IEC-Power-Block-Extension-Strip_W0QQitemZ270012190966QQihZ017QQcategoryZ4534 2QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can't find my "choice" - the square box I have, but will try to take a picture next time I'm out. However I believe the above two items will do what you need! :teeth:

Wouldnt work anyway. Bulgin leads are 8 core and 13amp mains are 3 core.

If I had money to burn I could've done that with a standmate & just ignored the other 5 wires :teeth: :teeth:

Yes but you would only have 1 socket on the other end working. Unless you rewired the box so all 4 sockets were in parallel and then it would work.
