Thinking of buying a new amp, what do lot recommend?

I use Deltec speakers which can handle heck of a lot of thrashing, I use a numark dimension 4 most of the time, but I find its always on the limit of power, A studiomaster 1200D The old style not the cheapo indian ones, which is good but lacks power and on the odd occasions a PSS2000 which hates my speakers for some reason.

So was thinking of getting rid of the PSS and the Studiomaster ( any ideas on prices) and buying a decent amp which is more powerful than the Numark ( which will become the spare) kinda pointless having 3 amps.

Your thoughts chappies and chapesses

Mike

Oh yer, on big gigs I use my Ohms RW6 as well which sound brill on the studiomaster amp.

What's your budget then Mike?

And how much power do you need?

I think around 500 quid or up a little bit more, iam after a quality amp, not a cheapo job.

power wise, something with a bit of headroom, would like to upgrade speakers at somepoint too

My next amp will be the QSC RMX 2450 - you don't get much better quality and reliability than that! ;)

There's one going on eBay, ending tonight around 8

PS. don't have the funds at the moment, otherwise I'd be bidding on it myself :)

There's a brand new QSC RMX2450 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/QSC-RMX-2450-RMX-2450-RMX2450-Power-Amp-New_W0QQitemZ7412102921QQihZ016QQcategoryZ68247QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem in your budget Mike.

Or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/A-mega-performance-QSC-Audio-RMX-2450-Pro-Power-Amp_W0QQitemZ200013354148QQihZ010QQcategoryZ52473Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem but there is lots of rubbish spouted in their listing, so I'd be wary.

What power rating are the Deltecs?

The deltecs ratings are 12" tops 450 @ 8 ohms they use kappa pro and the bass are 15" 600 @ 8 ohms (internal xover)

I like the look and reveiws of the QSC amps, but the one on ebay is only slighty more power then the numark, but might do I guess

Or the Basys amp on it's own, so many possibilities.
