Indeed so, and don't miss the chance to hear and see two legendary Yorkhire DJ's working together. It's even more fun, when we find we're not in total harmony, and I have to beat John round the ear with an SM58 reserved specially for that purpose. :D :D :D :D :D

The pub is a very nice place, and you will also have the chance to hear a Class D PA in operation. :D

Twenty minutes to go. We have been living in "interesting times". :( :D :D

Reprieve. I'm playing the last song.

"Hallelujah" would have been appropriate.

And the report 2 days later.

New Years Day 2009 - I was booked to do a 40th Birthday Party On New Years Day at Sutton Fields. They wanted it open to the pub. So myself and Peter (Excalibur) worked our magic on this (photos above from 2009) and it was so popular the karaoke with everyone in the pub.

The manager and landlord of the pub decided they should carry this on every new years day and its paid off bigtime for them in 2009,2010 and 2011. I can see this been booked for new years day 2012 soon.

So this years 2011 one (2 days ago)

Me and Peter got there for about 3:45pm for a 5:00pm start and we got setup. Few technical problems with the external soundcard on PCDJ VJ
but we got it working. Everyone had a really good time. We was bombarded with requests for the evening. These are the songs we managed to fit in.

Some people were trying to push their luck a little bit trying to get on by saying "Im going home in 10 minutes"

The experience was not without its moments of stress.;)
95% of the punters are lovely, and there's a great atmosphere.
Some however, can try your patience more than a little. As the curse has it: "May you live in interesting times. " :D :D :D :D

Never seen such a full karaoke list.
Beats your normal karaoke nights where your lucky to get half a dozen until the last half hour when you receive 100 requests :D :D

They're beginning to learn. ;) By the time we arrive, a fair amount of inhibition remover has been partaken of, and some of the punters didn't have that many to start with! ;)

On balance, we played about one non karaoke track per hour. :D :D

Next Year

Its not booked as yet. But who fancies coming down to Hull for a new years day night out in Sutton Fields.

DISCO & KARAOKE

£1.79 a pint of Carlsberg and Fosters & Stella. Good beer and nice food even can get 2 meals for a fiver on certain days.

Regulars are friendly. Me and Peter have had a fantastic new years day there every year for the past 3 years.

I hate rough pubs and i wont work in them so. Sutton Fields is a good pub.

Those wanting to come and wanting to stay over. There is plenty of hotels in the area and travel lodges like Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Ramada Jarvis etc etc.
