I might need another pair of speakers for a one off job and then to be kept as back up going forward.

Budget £300-500, passive will do.

Anyone seen any good deals?

I bought some Mackie C300s for £300 when in a similar situation a few years ago- hoping to find a similar deal this time, although I suspect I may not be as lucky.

What do you need them for Rich?

Multi room for an event- would prefer to buy rather than rent if I can get a decent deal.
Not a massive room so dont need to be anything top end and wont use them too much after this event.

And did you definitely want passive?

Thats the plan but if theres an offer on active I would give it some thought.

I bought a pair of LD actives for a venue during December for around £350. http://www.rsdmusic.com/products.asp?prodid=14&catid=22&mcatid=1

Sound quality is pretty good, but I found they did run out of steam fairly quickly in comparison to the likes of Mackie, RCF or EV.

Might be worth a listen as they could be a worthwhile backup too.

Do they have to be new?
I have a pair of HK PR10 Premiun Poro speakers for sale within that budget.
