...I've been told today that they design/build the forthcoming Gemini CDJ-700 and CDMP-7000 controllers for Gemini!

http://magazine.dv247.com/2011/01/18/gemini-dj-gear-namm-round-up/

Both of which look pretty neat (twin touch screen TFT displays?!)

Can anyone confirm/deny this rumour? ;)

I notice Cortex now have a little bit of text on the left hand side of their website which says "Other GCI Technologies Group sites : Gemini" which would seem to confirm it.

Does anyone know what else Cortex have been up to?

GCI make everything. Cortex, Gemini etc are the brand names.

Much like Prolight = Acme / Equinox / iSolution / Transcension / LEDJ etc....

Gotcha. Think I'm almost up to date now :D Who's Numark again? ;)

Interesting how the two companies product lines have two very distinct design styles. I'm assuming the R&D teams are probably separate or something?

That CDMP-7000 is soooo modelled on the CDJ2000.

And CDJ-700's look just a little bit like another CD deck that carries the name "CDJ", but hey, don't they all these days.... :D

Well i guess...but the Pioneer stuff is pretty iconic these days, everything else is just a poor copy.
