Just been looking into prices for them online.... 65 quid each!!. I almost spat out my beer :omg:

HTI150 Discharge Lamp.

Did you not realise that discharge were a lot more expensive then?

Some are supposed to last up to 6000 hours though (my Mad Magician says so anyway)

I did realise discharge bulbs were more expensive...just not THAT expensive..lol.

750 hours lamp life on the HTI 150's. Best deal I've found so far is £59.99. CPC were around £75 (need a good discount if you're reading Lee [shockwave] :p )

come on, work it out now... your average 250w halogen lamp doesnt last half as long, have anywhere near the output, or produce anywhere near the same clarity and vivid colours as a 150w discharge lamp.

the amount of times you'll need to replace that discharge lamp offsets the fact that they cost more. dip your hand in your pocket, they dont cost that much and theyre far far superior to halogens.

ps. you can get 2000hr HTI150 lamps - we sell them.

daz - the magician is an MBI150, which is indeed a 6000hr lamp. the mad powerflower uses the 2000hr HTI150 lamp

2000 hour HT150's?.

I've been searching half of last night and seen many HT152's (2000 hour) and they appear to much cheaper than the 150's.

HT150 90v (750 hours)
HT152 95v (2000 hours)

Maybe someone can explain why the prices are so different. Martin states that the HT150 must be used which is why I'm erring on the side of caution about purchasing the the longer life version.?

OK, last try: Catalogue will be with you tommorow. Slightly out of our hands as we used a different delivery company than normal to deliver the catalogues. Sorry about the wait, but should be worth it ;)

Two points spring to mind here Elite-

1. Lamps may last thousands of hours in theory but if you break them they dont work!

2.Is it time to review prices perhaps if providing this kind of quality
lighting with horribly high overhead costs?

Just a thought

Well it was elementary my dear Thomas, he is based near them and is offering prices not available to the public as I have a CPC account as I am sure most DJ's do.

LeapCreative

As far as CPC goes, i always try and offer better pricing to DJ's. I've always beleived its good to look after your own ;) For Nathan and anyone else who dosen't know me, im a Key Account manager at CPC, hence why i can offer the best pricing. For any quotes or bulk pricing, my number is in my signature.

So you are telling me that you have never broken a lamp Liam?

It doesn't happen often..... but it does happen!

Very very rare for discharge lamps to break after installed in the light.

I have had lights dropped and banged about without problems.

They are so reliable, I don't even carry a spare, even for long distance shows....

abyssdjhire
22-08-2006, 02:52 PM
dropped one of our madscans out the back of the espace that we used to have before.. nothing wrong with it.

the only time a lamp would really be likely to break is when you're putting it in - and if it does, its usually a weak one, and will be replaced

CRAZY K
22-08-2006, 05:22 PM
Well if these bulbs are so fantastic and withstand dropping on the ground and last for ever== why are you having to buy two new ones?

i'm not - he is. they're probably at the end of their life... perhaps you should invest in some discharge scanners and then you can see the difference for yourself

Shaun

I've no idea whether the lamps had just reached the end of their life or not...nothing lasts forever though.

Upon testing of the lights that are working I have to say I'm VERY impressed with brightness and sharpness of the beams.

I've also just bought a martin controller on ebay that comes pre-programmed (by Martin) with scenes and shows for the 812's. I love new toys!.
