Here we are then, I am about to bare all.
I joined the forum in December and have been on it most days since.
I have bought my basic set up by reading threads and picking up stuff from all of you.
Here is the list:
NUMARK CD MIX1 TWIN CD MIXER BRAND NEW £149.99 EBAY

TAMP E-800 AMPLIFIER (MAIN AMPLIFIER) BRAND NEW 800 WATT 400 WATTS PER CHANNEL RMS £115.00 THOMANN

CROWN XLS402 AMPLIFIER ( BACK UP AMPLIFIER) NEARLY NEW 900 WATT 450 WATTS PER CHANNEL RMS £120.00 EBAY

PAIR OF PEAVEY PRO 15 SPEAKERS NEARLY NEW 300 WATTS RMS £169.00 EBAY

PAIR OF STAGG HEAVY DUTY SPEAKER STANDS NEARLY NEW £22.99 EBAY

MICROPHONE BRAND NEW £22.00 THOMANN

SPEAKON/XLS/6.25 MM JACK TO JACK LEADS BRAND NEW £48.00 THOMANN

PHONO LEADS AND VARIOUS ADAPTORS BRAND NEW £26.65 AMAZON

That was my original budget of around £300 blown out of the water.
But what the heck, I love it, it works and sounds great to me. I still have to by my Newmark DJIO sound card device and other bits. But I have got the bug and may well just have a go at this and get some lights as well.
What do you think. I am away until Sunday so will see any comments by then.
PS: What a great forum this is

Nothing stupid on that list, no Legendary Prosound three gigawatt amps. ;) :D :D

A good start.

The Numark DJiO is a great external soundcard - I use one in my setup :) along with some Peavey Pro 15 MKII's.

We all start somewhere and i feel you have started well :)

You paid more for your back up amp then your main amp?

Back up for the CD Mix?

I remember when I first started, I had no end of trouble with it.

Otherwise..... :approve:

I think I will use the T amp as my main amp because it has the Thomann 3 year waranty. I think the back up amp is probably just as good as the T amp so not really that worried about which one I use. What do you think is the best of the two?:)

I intend to play all music through a laptop with VDJ and the Newmak sound card. The newmark mixer will be the comfort blanket if things go wrong with computer set up.:)

Thanks for the encouragement, it is nice to think that so far I am on the right track.:D
