Robert Miles - Children
Darude - Sandstorm
P.P.K. - Resurrection
Dario G - Sunchyme

We generally use these records to show off the lighting.

But all these and more (including Jean Michel Jarre :)) can be found on Mastermix Music For Lights, which retails for around £20-£25 http://www.djkit.co.uk/acatalog/misc.html

How quaint! Do people still do this? Haven't done this in about 30 years, trying to wrack mt brain as to what we used to use- probably Also Sprach Zarathustra- but not sure!

I have to admit, I don't understand 'light shows'..... what's in it for the customer? (other than the opportunity to go 'Oooh' and 'Aahh', if they are that way inclined). To my way of thinking, it is the DJ equivalent of a drum solo! :omg:

Can someone explain it to me?

they are ideal with voice overs at the beginning of the night etc etc and a good way to check the lights are in working order

most decent nightclubs still do it as a standard

must admit I have not done it in a while, but did do it for a video of another disco as to give people an Idea of the show. I may get a DVD camera and record another disc onto DVD of my show to send to people

also use to use 2 unlimited - get ready for this when clubbing and on some mobiles

Like someone else has mentioned, I use Dario G Sunchyme. The 8 minute remix on the original single. The long 1min40 intro, builds so cooly, it great for just switching on a single laser, 20 seconds apart till all 4 are on slow scan. Then when the beat kicks in, burst in with the gobos and finally, in the mid vocal bit (Life in a northern town bit) the whole show comes on. Plus I just luv the toon.

Looks very good. :)

When did you notice your rig was on fire?

My favourite lightshow is the house lights coming on at the end of the gig when everyone realises how ugly the person they have just been snogging is....

Is that with smoke J?

Just the right amount.

Poor quality video makes it look a bit 'smokey'.

Is it easy to program movers to not pan behind you?

Paul James Promotions

You mean tilt ;)

You can easily program exactly what you like. I wanted a 360 degree movement for the intro. Usually, they will project onto dancefloor only.

That's what I meant yes... :embarasse

I just don't want them behind the decks too much, 'cos I reckon it would get annoying...

Theme from "steptoe and son"......What? only kidding!!!!!!!
Patrick Cowley-- Menergy (starts with a gentle keyboard then blows the roof off)
DJ Tiesto-- Adagio for strings (a bit of a monster)
Star wars theme (a bit cheesey maybe........but you could "use the force luke")
PPK--Resurrection (wonderful)
