Ive made the move over to a Denon MC6000 a couple of months back now as you all know.

Now ive sold my other Denon Mixer im looking for a good backup solution to use should the MC6000 Fail (unlikely) but better safe than sorry.

Im now looking at a backup device. Question is there is many good things on the market for backup. Ideally i would like something compact and light.

Options are.....

A Denon X050 2 channel mixer and a Maya Gigaport HD soundcard.
A Numark Mixtrack Pro (Round about £170)
A Hercules RMX or DJ Console MK4

Which would be best to use for backup.

Its something i need to get sorted before 8th october my next job.

thanks

John

I like the look of the DN-X600 but i could nearly get another MC6000 for a few £ more. Plus its a bit pricey for a backup.

hi jon,

I think the hercules rmx would be great for you. They are good value second hand, cheaper than the mixtrach i would think.
I've just swapped from a herc rmx and djm 5000 to the mc6000 but am keeping the rmx just in case and also purchasing an
american audio sdj1 at a bargain price to cover all bases.

For the price, and convenience, would another mc6000 not be viable ??

I was looking at getting a small digital controller and a USB sound card and for another tenner I could get the Numark Mixtrack - so I did :D

See here http://forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=35069 for my opinion on it.

Thats an option im seriously considering now a 2nd MC6000. Its expensive but i know exactly what im getting when i go for Denon.

I am very very particular with my dj equipment.

My brains telling me to go for something cheaper. But my heart is telling me to go for Denon or Pioneer.

Ive used Denon for about 8 years and i like the stuff. Never had pioneer but i know its as good if not better.

Total overkill, surely? A Cortex/SD card/USB player in the case with the 6000, and a small mixer as emergency measure is all that's needed.

I second a Cortex either a hdc 1000 or the 3000 ive used both in live and i do like them they are ideal for mainplay outs aswell as backups.

Quick and easy to sort out, very easy to navigate through the mem sticks etc and if you go for the hdc1000 its a smaller unit to have in a playout case :)

I wouldnt mind another midi controller that i can just get a small case for like the Denon MC6000.

Ill have a look around BPM and see what there is available. Ive seen one unit made by Pioneer that i quite like the look of at 429.

That new DJ ERGO midi controller.

It was just a tounge in cheek comment. Not meaning to offend nobody. It was mainly the fact that i used to carry loads of cds with me but i dont anymore ive moved over to a complete digital system now.
