A Weekend on the ferries and a full day in Amsterdam.

Up this way in Hull they have P&O North Sea Ferries they do whats called a Minicruise.

Ferry leaves King George Dock in Hull on friday night at 9pm arrive in Rotterdam at 8am on the Saturday morning. Catch a free coach from the terminal to Amsterdam spend the entire day there till 5pm the coach picks up from the station and takes you back to Rotterdam for the ferry. Leave Rotterdam at 9pm on the sat night for the overnight crossing back to Hull at 8am on the sunday morning.

Entertainment bar on the ferry with disco and live band, duty free shops etc etc.

How much does it cost?

Well £72.00 but they do 2 for 1 on a room share so that works out £36 each and then spending money. All coach transfers in Rotterdam to Amsterdam are free both ways.

Ive spoke to a couple of forum members about this already. Its not about it been in Hull where i live. Its because its a cheap weekend away.

Let us know what you think. They do 2 for 1s at some point in the year. 2012 sometime.

P&O might do deals on group bookings.

I went a couple of years ago and it was a good weekend away. The ferry is nice onboard.

Everything you need on there for a weekend.

I'm off there again in March with my mates. Amsterdam has some great bars serving some amazing Belgian beer. Other forms of entertainment are available too!

Would be a time thats easiest for most people to go. If we go ahead with it. but not bad for £36 each on a 2 for 1. Whos up for it.

Mainly cos North Sea Ferries don't go there from Hull. :( I've done Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire on the high speed one in rough seas, and that is an experence!

I must say though, that I have a handful of places on my To Visit list, and Dublin is high on that. I passed through fleetingly the first time, and wished I could have stayed longer. :(

I once went on the high speed ferry form Heysham to Belfast. The crossing was supposed to take 3 hours but the weather was so bad it took 6 hours along with an unscheduled stop a Douglas on the Isle of Man to drop two passengers off so they could be taken to hospital.

I found out why it was nicknamed the Vomit Comet :(

Lol yes it can be a bit rough I've heard. I went from Felixstowe to Rotterdam years ago & that was bad though !

Flying isnt much better. Flew to Belfast from Stanstead and didnt realise how small the planes were. Foolishly I asked for a window seat. Spent almost an hour and a half with my right ear on my right shoulder because there wasnt enough headroom to sit upright

Where's Hull? :D

Usually half submerged under the water if you are on a ferry

Sounds good John ,something different in the quiet times.

Its usually a smooth crossing from Hull - Rotterdam. Either on Pride of Hull or Pride of Rotterdam.

Any more interested in a voyage across the North Sea to Holland? We need to sort out a suitable time for everyone.
