hi, would anyone be so kind and desgin me a logo for my mobile disco??? :embarasse

What would it be used on? One colour (+) or full colour?
I just ask as studied graphic design at uni. I also know other people that could do it or may even do it for free if you gave them credit (on websites, flyers....).

May I suggest some thing incorporating a dancing note with a type of flat cap on? thingy for the Lads appeal look say a smile within the note as well and a speaker with the word sound coming out of it?

Re Have A Disco's ideas : they seem good (I think maybe too obvious) - but to me, design wise, they will be far too busy/complicated to work. I imagine them to be used more as pictures (on a website?) than an actual logo.

I would suggest you go down the simple & clear route and don't over complicate it.

But yeh I can have a play round with some for you. Give me a week (or you in a rush?).

was just a complete pile of Ideas but yes sharp simple and pleasing to the eye always works and was thinking at many levels of application for the whole idea

Bigdevs is right. The logo should not be over-complicated. Have a loook around at the logos of all the big brandnames, simplicity and uniqueness is the key!.

Looks good.
A slight change would be to remove the background swirl - that takes away from the text.
Maybe try the Soundlands in 1 colour rather than 3 different colours. To many colours like that can distract the eye.
Do like the 'discos' under the Soundlads - thats very effective.

I am being to critical? Hope not & I don't mean to cause offence. I've just been made to analyse everything.

Just a thought, where you have the "pause" icon at the bottom of ther words, would it work with a play or fast forward or track forward icon in place of the elongated stop icon?

What is the 'discos' font called?

It's called "Knuckle Sandwich".

Difinately think the 2nd logo is better than the first!! Slight changes can make it look so different.

I think you can still take it further, don't stop!! :)

Try changing the background colours - a simple change can make a massive difference! People use white to often as it's a defult colour on computers, paper etc.

Not too keen on the record. But REALLY like the bar/line. Try extending it the other side of 'discos' with a fade out on both sides.

Do you use a PC or Mac? Do you/have you used Illustrator or Photoshop? Recommend if you haven't - opens up a whole new world! You study graphic communication at school/college?

I'm just on a PC using fireworks bigdev. I mostly do flash work so I'm not much of a graphic designer. I've done a few in my time i guess. Thanks for the comments though!

Not too keen on the main typeface. But like the flag type of thing, looks a bit like a gradient. Try it with a gradient rather than a flag - might work? Like the faint/watermark style of the DJ - perhaps lightspeed could take this idea to some of his designs.

Photoshop/coral is just a tool to execture the idea. The idea IS THE MOST IMPORTANT part!!! There are many designers who just come up with ideas & get computer 'nerds' to do all the technical stuff on Photoshop.

I find it amazing that there are so many people with good design ideas. Just takes a little bit to try to develop them.

Noticed a spelling mistake which also noticed on you site.
Disco's should be Discos. I'm a really cr*p speller :embarasse, even though my mum is a dyslexic teacher. But she always goes on at me to remember only use an apostraphy (') if it belongs to someone. Probably one spelling rule I can remember! :)

The first one with the star is a little too "fun" if that makes sense, but we like the 2nd one. Is there any way it can be made a little "bolder" and maybe "slightly" more colourful without loosing the classy look?
