Which Amps should I go for

OK, I operate a bose PA system, that comprises four Paneray 802 III 8ohm speakers with an RMS of 220W and 4 MB4 Base modules 8ohms with an RMS of 200W.

The base speakers need a different amplified audio feed than the top units as such 4 audio channels are needed.

These are good units and I am trying to select two (or one four channel) new amps to drive this system to perfection with high-quality and high-reliability amps.

I also require light-weight amps as I need to mount these in one case with the bose controller.

Has anyone any good suggestions as to what amps should I go for.

Have a look at the new Kryo range from Void, they sound fantastic, are available in 2 and 4 channel models and very lightweight.

is coming in at £1900 for a four channel 700w rms. Just think its a bit dear!

RSE so a 1u rackmount amp at 500w rms per channel weighs in at 8 kilos i think it is. Mount 2 of them in a 2u rackmount and you have a four channel amp setup for no bigger than an average 2u amp. Might weigh a little more though. Think they are about £300-£400 each though.

I was referring to the A Series - jut look at the weight !!

I first saw them when I put an accounting system in for them at the turn of the century and was hugely impressed - not only by the amps, also by the client list they have, so they obviously agree they do the business.

Murrough asked for high-quality, high reliability, with no particular mention of budget. They are in the top end quality and reliability-wise, was not entirely sure of the price, but am not surprised.

mmm those Kryos are very very nice, Rog had one in the Stasys rack above a load of Infinites.... but what with them, the new MC2s and ITechs, there's a serious risk that in a few years most roadies will be a bunch of wusses who won't be able to lift more than a dolly board :omg: :teeth: :teeth:

You don't get more reliable than QSC :thumbs_up

...and if it is indeed lightweight, the only thing to worry about is how much it's gonna set you back! ;)
