I need your help with my amp dilema. As many people as possible!!!!

Please can you put these amps in order of durability and class (as in they won't let you down because they are good solid amps)

Behringer Eurpower 2500
QSC 2450
Kam KXR 2000
Miltec MTA 1600
Calrsbro Powerline Pro 2000
Numark Dimension 4
Peavey PV2600

Thanks for your help! I need to purchase 2 of these on the weekend!

Jay

Sorry to keep asking, but why 2?

QSC 2450
Peavey PV2600
Behringer 2500
Numark Dimesion 4

Not sure about the others as I've not used or read reviews of them.

I think Badger uses a Miltec though.

The Peavey is a good, solid amp for the price and has the added bonus of DDT (do a Google for it).

(1) QSC 2450
(2) Peavey PV2600
(3) Numark Dimension 4
(4) Behringer Eurpower 2500
(5) Kam KXR 2000

and with a big gap between (1) and (2)

never seen the following so cannot comment:
Miltec MTA 1600
Calrsbro Powerline Pro 2000

hey, never thought I'd put a Peavey in no.2 of anything, but in fairness the big PV amps are built like brick ****houses, and those who have them seem to like them and they do last.

In which case it would be wise to ask for advice on an active crossover as i have no idea how you would even think about running that way without one - or for that matter if there is any way you could actually do it without (never seen it myself).

A good crossover I am guessing will set you back a couple of hundred - so you might want to calculate for that when choosing your amps?

You just slave from one amp to another Rice - it just means you won't be splitting the frequencies.

OK, I think. But what advantage does that give you over one amp? Surely if you're using something like the EP2500 you are never really going to want much more than the maximum output are you (assuming that slaving one to the other will give you twice tho available output?

I always thought bi-amping was very much about splitting frequencies and getting more powerful sound (not necessarily a louder one)?

Less distortion, more headroom, increased efficiency, cleaner sound.

2 x Behringer 2500's ordered :) £430

Chap in the shop said Numark Dimension are better in his opinion... But under powered for my needs.

Thanks folks! Oh and my Mrs says thanks for helping me decide on how best to empty our bank account!!
