Based on other threads, can we perhaps get some help guides written up by DJ's who have perhaps had/have experiance of polish/arabic/chinese/punjaby/****ney weddings & events?

it may help others when they too get given these events.

(Only joking magicFM!!! :D :D )Joking aside, I think we could do with adding an Irish Music ist to the articles section (when hey go back up online), as that's a subject that comes up time and time again (and I don't mean general music that just happens to have been recorded by an Irish artist!)..... but this is another topic for a different thread!:p

Did an Arabic fireworks do in Surrey this time last year - no jokes please! - clientele mainly Egyptian and Lebanonese - despite having gone to HMV Picadilly where they have representative music from all over the world - and I mean all over the world, it was similar to doing a UK wedding - popular disco stuff from the late 70's onwards although throwing in a song or 2 in the local dialects did work well and was appreciated. Egypt seems to be the centre of Arabian modern music (EMI prolific out there) and that would be an area I'd look deeper into if i was to specialise! Allah Akbhar!! [smile]

Strangely I got a call from last years people last night - apologies for short notice but am I free this Saturday? As it happens I am so its off to the Kazbah at lunchtime to search for the latest hits out of Egpyt - guess NILEs Barkly is a guaranteed play..............groan!!)
