Hi

Does anyone use Spandex Dj Screens and if so what is your thoughts on them.

I currently use a pull up projector screen but would like to go larger.

The best spandex screens that I have found are from a Canadian supplier
https://www.djscreen.com/

Just wondered if there was a company in this country that did an equally as good screen.

I use a sheet of lycra / spandex from a fabric shop.
2 Speaker stands weighted down with 4 clamps.
that way you can project behind or in front.

Want a bigger screen buy more lycra!

^^ Exactly what the man said! ^^
Have a look on Ebay for some 4 way stretch white lycra and do it yourself!

I have tried the cheaper option but I find it's poor quality, especially rear projection.

Me too. Spandex/lycra gives very poor results compared to a proper screen, with a lot of light loss and very poor contrast.

What is the best screen for rear projection?

I bought this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spandex-stretch-backdrop-DJ-projector-screen-various-size-16-9-4-3-ratio-/221609461431?ssPageName=ADME:X:RRIRTB:GB:3160
from a UK Supplier and found it to be very creased and colour wash out on rear projection.

This company from Canada seems to be the best
https://www.djscreen.com/

but very expensive for a cloth.

Maybe worth the money though if it is as good as they claim.

Was hoping someone on here had experience with it before I spend nearly £200 on it

There are several grades/weights of spandex/lycra one type, (satin lycra) has a shiny surface on one side this is OK for front projection but not rear. For rear projection you need lightweight plain finished fabric, the shiny stuff reflects the light back and does not pass as much through the fabric, hence the poor performance. Shop around.

I have a Equinox Dj Booth and it came with a white Lycra cloth.

I tested this for rear projection and it works great. It also stretch's nicely and does not crease.

Can't use it though because it is wrong size and has a seam.

What I need to find is the same material
