Yup. Since 1985 and been asked to produce it on several occasions over the years, although not recently I hasten to add.

No - there is the PPL Mobile DJ Licence which allows you to perform at one-off public events, but that is only required in exceptional circumstances (ie if it's a birthday / wedding etc, it's friends and family and therefore not public, and in the majority of cases the venue would hold the necessary licence).

There is also a lot of talk around at the moment about the Licence(s) which will allow you to change the format of the music you buy - ie, rip the CDs you have bought to MP3, but these are very much up in the air at the moment.

Was it one of these you were thinking of?

Without trying to open a very old debate the way the mobile dj ppl was explained to me by a lady at ppl was ...

I needed it if I was promoting a night ie hired a venue and selling tickets etc under say " Dragonfly Discos presents..." im not saying at all that this is how it is but that was my understanding .... I don't do this so one is not needed.

But haven't renewd it because I'm not convinced it's legal, and until the authorities get their respective :Censored: together I don't see why I should send my good money to them when others don't and it's not enforced anyway:eek:

No disrespect to anyone who didn't buy the DDJ - you weren't daft enough to jump in like some of us:rolleyes:
