Are you aware that re-encoding an MP3 to another MP3 is causing generational loss? It's not so bad only doing it the once, but add consecutive decode & re-encodes & the sound quality can start to suffer.
I make music edits often & if the source is MP3 they get saved as FLAC or WAV - both are 'lossless' & no further quality loss will ensue. If the source is WAV or FLAC, then I generally save them as MP3 to save space.
If all you need to do is cut bits from the start, end, or a bit in the middle there are dedicated mp3 editors available such as mp3cutter - and I've just discovered there are online ones too - which might very well be how many tracks find their way online so be careful! What these do, is remove parts of the original file without decoding & re-encoding the file resulting in no generational loss.
