Hi all, I know it has been a while since I've posted here. I'm looking to move our scanners on as we've recently purchased replacements, and will gladly offer a special MDD discount on top of the...
How did you get on Darren? Did you manage to find a remedy?
I'll suggest the DMXIS system from Enttec. Having recommended this in the past and having seen it deployed by bands who want something fairly straightforward that they can run up via their DAW and...
Have you ever known that to happen?
The symptoms are curious, but I agree that you should source a known-working controller, repatch and test again so you can at least rule that out.

While I don't wish to suggest anything other than best practice, EIA485 is a NRZ protocol, meaning the transmission line model isn't valid until the cable run is about 160m in length. This is why...
Some sound (light?) advice here. How have you patched the units via the controller? And there is output from the desk? I'd also check the XLR input chassis on the troublesome heads to ensure it links...
I'd echo that. Maybe consider either the Martin PR1, or the Optikinetics Solar 250 if the budget it there; the 250 is a very versatile little projector, but the accessories aren't cheap.
Both take...
I think that's just a matter of opinion, and how much you value your time. Why bother? Why not? To help out a friend? To 'make good' with a OS you know that supports the software you depend on?

I do not doubt that. My post was a comment on the fact that a complete reformat and reinstall may not actually work, echoing what you had mentioned previously. This, for the OP, would clearly...
Cannot comment further on your particular situation there, Darren, but you are right to voice your concerns with the MS / SSD combination. Such discussions relating to manually removing the Linux...
This. Pretty much word for word. I'd only add that, without being able to run it all up with pink noise / a swept sine, use heavily-compressed dance music or metal. Anything off Metallica's 'Death...
Thanks for your reply, Ralph.
Regarding the gig, we've been approached for some lighting for an 'entertainment evening' consisting of a dance troupe and a band with chorus. Sound duties may...
Hi all,
Just a request for some information in preparation. Fortunately the venue is fairly local so I'll be able to arrange a visit myself within the next day or two, but any insight from others...
Darren, although your suggestion is workable, I'd have to agree with Peter here for the reasons he has explained. The OP has implied that he'd need to make a purchase to make the arrangement work...
Please listen to this. Suggesting that you sum the outputs via a standard Y split is, in fact, very bad advice. I'd encourage you to engage the mono switch on your mixer and run it as intended.
Vimeo Plus may be something that appeals to someone. I would imagine those with a reasonable amount of HD content and promotional material could probably justify the expense.

What tester did he use, Daryll, out of curiosity?
I am glad you've been able to shed some light on that, Darren. It does seem to confirm what I've heard, that is regarding the larger format ES range in particular. Clearly the issue is fairly typical...
Both the KX range and EX10's / 12's tops sound great, but for that money they really ought to! I'm of the opinion there are better products on the market if one has that sort of money to spend. I'm...
