Excellent, glad to hear it (excuse the pun).
It’s worth looking into, but I know I wouldn’t want to be messing around with something like that at a wedding, keep it simple is my motto, not getting...
That is a big wedding!
I’d be more inclined to look into hiring a bigger system rather than trying to link what you have together, I think you’ll have a nightmare with delay between the speakers...
Same here, I’m not an agent or multi-op.
if I’m not available I recommend a few trusted DJs to the client and that’s where my involvement ends.
Unless you are running a legitimate...
Sound like you haven't quite got the knack of dealing with clients yet, don’t worry, it’ll come with experience.
They could easily do this...but they’d be killing off their own business, no one would buy other lighting and controllers if there was a really good gigbar solution.
Fair enough, though I’d have thought if you’re going to the trouble of having back-up for the first dance then it can’t be much more hassle to have back-up for the rest of the night in place as well.
Unless it’s the first dance or other key moment...
Does that still apply when only one output is being used at a time? That wouldn’t be summing two signals would it? (as would be the case if you have to switch to your back-up).

Unfortunately unless you have signs up stating...
I just see it as a trend from noisy clubs and don’t take it as a personal affront, it’s just a request, it’s the modern version of scribbling it on a beermat.....
So now we’ve established it’s an issue for some DJ’s - what’s the solution?
Or perhaps a tutorial on how to work with clients? :sofa:
You mean you don’t?
Along with the ‘sorry no, I can’t invite you to someone else’s wedding/party’ you should also ask them why they want to see you live, is there an underlying doubt or concern you can put their mind at...
A 100 middle aged charity function guests in a venue that would hold 150.
An outside pub beer garden wedding reception and was asked to turn them down.
Numerous events over several years for...
I’ve had clients send me Spotify lists before, they didn’t expect me to play from Spotify, it’s just a much quicker method of sending a playlist than writing them all down....so just treat it like...
It’s choosing the right 500 or 1,000 tunes though....
With play-out systems and storage being so cheap these days I see no reason not to have your complete DJ music library as back-up. Why limp...
I don’t see the problem in changing your music plans to accommodate something like this - but not organising it properly is an issue.
I would have told the ’tog to go and find the the B&G and make...
Why the reluctance to ask the client? Effective questioning and listening are very important skills in any customer service environment.
Even if we said what we thought it was it could be wrong so...
There’s a lot of discussion about suppliers asking for Friends and Family payments on the various FB wedding forums after people have been caught out by unscrupulous con artists with no avenue to...
